We are keeping the farm and the farmstand open late for shopping and have invited some of our favorite friends to join us! Philadelphia Brewing Companywill be here and Chef Carolynn will be making grilled summertime treats. West Philly born and raised PB&Jams will be here, servin’ up their sweet, savory and innovative renditions of the classic PB&J! Enjoy live music from DJ John Morrison and James Austin Melton, and shop local makers; Mithras Candle homemade candles sourced from local wax, an array of handcrafted soaps and balms from The Tin Goat, Eco-friendly organically sourced beauty products from Nyambi Naturals, small batch soaps, candles and home goods from Thankful Sage Farm School and Shell Home Made’s tinctures and small treasures. This month join us for a free seed bomb demo and outdoor movie, more details below! Twilight Markets are the second Thursday of each month through November and are BYOBW (beer and wine). Different music, local food and drink, workshops, music and arts and craft vendors each month.
Seed Bomb Demo: Farm Your City! Staff expert Ari Rosenberg will demonstrate how to make seed bombs. These are ready-to-plant mix of compost, clay and seeds often launched into vacant lots or under-utilized green spaces or your own garden beds! Ari’s seed bombs will be full of edible or ornamental plant seeds. First come first served. This is a great activity for all garden lovers ages 5 and up!
Settle in and get cozy for the Philadelphia Film Society’s final installment of their Movies on the Block series with a screening of “Wild Plants,” right here on the farm! Nicolas Humbert’s “Wild Plants” is a film that transports audiences to gardens everywhere from Detroit to Geneva to explore the relationship people have with the plants around them.
The Philadelphia Film Society’s Movies on the Block is a free seasonal program that ensures all of Philadelphia has access to film. We are proud to partner with them to bring our community together for a night of casual entertainment right here on the farm. The Twilight Market begins at 4pm, screening will start at sundown, around 7pm.
